Pistachio nut is highly nutritious and has so many health benefits. For example the majority of the fat found in pistachio is healthy unsaturated fat. Pistachio is a good source of Vitamin A, B6, E, thiamine, potassium, copper, magnesium and iron, healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats but are free of trans fat and cholesterol. Pistachio is the only nut that contain a significant amount of the carotenoids known as lutein and zeaxanthin. Dietary carotenoids are believed to provide health benefits to the body by decreasing the risk of disease, particularly certain cancers and eye disease. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids found in the retina and lens of the eye. The results of epidemiological studies suggest that diets rich in lutein and zeaxanthin may help slow the development of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
Roasting is the most important part of the process and if it is not conducted at right temperature and right ingredients, the result can be far from perfection.
Swiss 1848 SA and its partners have worked together and hand in hand in order to create a special formula for roasting and the result is a unique process and formula developed by our researchers that gives a distinguished and unique taste to our products. Roasting Iranian pistachios at higher temperature enhances its unique taste by preserving higher unsaturated oil content. This high temperature roasting eliminates any bacterial contamination, which may be present in raw product. Since beginning of 2018, we are producing roasted pistachios under this unique formula, licensed to our partners specifically for our customers around the World.
Our food engineers at R&D department have created 12 different flavours: Salted, Saffron, Curry, Wasabi, Barbeque, Blue Cheese, Salsa, Jalapeno, Chili, Honey, Honey Mustard and Chocolate. Salted and Saffron flavours are the most popular among our customers.
Once pistachio is roasted, they are tested once more for microbial contamination to ensure each batch of product is free from any contamination. Then the roasted pistachio is sent for packaging and using the latest packaging machineries, it will be packed in small batches to ensure its freshness and to adhere the strict quality standards, such as HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 certificates and most importantly health insurance from Food and Drug Administration of producing countries.
We use three layers metallise cellophane packaging to ensure high durability, preservation and shelf life. The labelling information on packaging is provided in four languages English, French, German and Italian to better serve our European customers.
